Not here! I always have a hab and a lemon drop. They are regulars.

Thanks TBL. It's difficult to say without knowing your growing conditions or seeing pictures. But this time of year, lack of light, temperatures, or even pH can all have an effect on whether seedlings are healthy and ultimately survive.

          • hi, im growing my seeds in a super 7 prop the lids are still on altho the taller seedlings are nearly hitting the top of them , i have a 125 wht cool cfl and i watered them with water that is 6.2 ph and has a 1/10 th strength veg feed in them (i only started watering with this 2 days ago to try and remidy the problem) the only other problem im having is my light timer isnt workingproperly and has a habbit of staying on all the ime in stead of swithching off ,cheers

It doesn't sound right to me, but I'm not experienced enough to know what the problem is. My seedlings have all retained their cotyledons. Hopefully the dilute feed you are giving them will help. I have removed the propagator lid when my seedlings showed. I wonder if condensation (water drops) is forming on the leaf edges and then the leaf is being burned by the lens effect under the light?

I'd get the lids off, the condensation blocks the light - take them off and give them chance to recover under the lights - hopefully its nothing more serious. I find keeping the lids on too long can lead to damping off.

If you get chance, take a picture - that will maybe help people to identify the problem

                  • So today I finally gave in and sowed some peppers and chillies (2 weeks earlier than last year).

I waited last year as I did not want to have large plants choking up the house and wanted to avoid moving trays of plant in and out of the greenhouse.

Not only that but I found those sown a few weeks later caught up anyway.

So why did I have to sow them – it feels good to have started the new season

I only sowed 4 varieties and only a handful of each.

                      • hi all i think its because i have been very keen with the watering and the moisture is too much in the propergators so i have taken lids off as suggested ,i`ll keep an eye on them over the next few days and keep you posted .also one of the seedlings has now been put into a rockwall cube so should be ready to go into the hydroponics in 2 weeks or so ,cant wait ,i`ll try and get some photos for you all soon ,my cameraman has gone awol and i havent got the kit to do it myself ,cheers

And I like the different varieties and matching them with different meals.

The standard Orange Habanero gets forgotten when we get excited about more exotic varieties, but it's one of my favourites. Here's one of my 2016 plants:

That's lovely Pic Chris, shows your passion for eating them as well as growing. does Orange Habanero is bit of milder side to habanero?

I am still curious to know your 2 other choices though you can not grow them like your every years must orange habanero.
