Not got a heat mat so I'm just moving them off the windowsill at night.

Have done most of my sowing now, so waiting to see what else germinates. I've only got basic heated propagators, and ideally I think chillies would benefit from greater heat.
Lost a few of my early seedlings, probably due to lack of light and warmth.
With cold temperatures and no additional lighting, I'm only getting slow growth at this stage. Surviving varieties so far:
Bulgarian Carrot
Burkina Yellow
Cayenne
Cheyenne F1
Congo Trinidad Yellow
Joe's Long Cayenne
Numex Twilight x Cayenne F2
Orange Habanero
Piccante Calabrese
Scotch Bonnet MoA Yellow
Space HJ10 Afterglow

Must be mad but not as mad as sone others here but keep to just 3 varieties.
So doing an experiment on type 4 ....cayenne
Sowed a few seeds straight into a pot with a little quirt of water and bottom tray of watee which already soaked up and leaving on window seal no grow lights.
Dampened kitchen roll and a few seeds and left folded in a sandwich bag and placed under towels in an airing cupboard and will try to forget them for at least a week.
Fingers cross 😄Last edited by jacks10; 31-01-2017, 05:23 PM.

The difference a light can make is massive.
Two photos, one under just a £20 single tube T5 with a homemade stand, the other on a windowsill. (I've got my girlfriend to give them a well needed drink since the photo and she's moved it to a brighter windowsill)
She's only just seeing true leaves appear, Mine are fully fledged. Same soil mix, seeds sown on same date etc. The difference with the peppadews (technically they're Milawi Piquante) is extraordinary
