I always start mine off around end jan beginning of Feb..so O think you'll be ok. My scorpion has overwintered very well. My Naga was doing well too but it got very big and had to be moved outside to get some more space for my New Years eve party. So I'd just go for it.

Fingers crossed still but looks like my Red Manzanos, Orange Habs, Lemon Drop and Scotch might have passed the overwintering test...
Possibly some others too that I still need to check on..I dream of a better tomorrow, where chickens can cross the road and not be questioned about their motives....
...utterly nutterly

Update on the Overwinters
Superchilli (if such it is) is in full-on growth / flowering / fruiting mode now, with at least half a dozen fruits set and a similar number of flowers open, more buds to come. So glad I didn't throw it out in autumn. The new leaves look healthy with no sign of the mildew that affected it last year.
Gusto Purple has a couple of fruits set, and a couple of flowers open. Again, this is all new growth as I cut it back to bare stems.
"Not scotch" has two shoots growing and flowerbuds forming on both
Paper lantern has put on quite a lot of new growth but the new leaves are extremely pale and look almost transparent with the sun behind them. Have fed with chilli focus but it hasn't helped. I don't have any epsom salts. I wasn't over enamoured with the chillies anyway so I might just chuck it out.
Cayenne hasn't bushed out at all after cutting back and is just a twig with a couple of leaves at the top. I should have thrown it out long since, when I got rid of its siblings, and it's definitely going in the bin now. I can't add another photo to this post.

Having a few problems here with germination, though they're at a solid 28+/-2 Celcius, have humidity and light and not too wet Presoaked them in tea. Same procedure as previous years.
Some have sprouted stems with no cotyledons.
Some have sprouted with the seed husk attached but seem to be lacking the vigour to discard the husk.
Other just haven't sprouted.
What's the ideal medium for germinating, other than well-draining? Coir, soil?
pH range?
Are there plants which are particularly negatively allelopathic
What are the main germination inhibitory chemicals? N? -GBA? ... Too late for the uni library to consult Baskins and Baskins.
Maybe I have old seed though sowed by use date and stored in accordance with Kew Millenium Seed Bank advice.
Maybe fungus. I did tx the medium under a germicidal lamp as usual. Anyone tried Trichoderma viride to T x fungal pathogens eg Aspergillus.
Maybe they've rotted.
Maybe the sciaridae gnats have chewed them. Txed pyrethrum
Maybe it's maybelline /Last edited by JustPotteringAbout; 20-02-2017, 02:01 AM.

Last year's, opened when sowing and in date. Also picked out the largest to have more chance of fully-developed embryos and sufficient endosperm. Some are fresh "deCayenne" use by 2019.
I just realised I posted on forum 4 Feb that I sowed chillies. I didn't date the labals as I normally do. did It seemed before that ... unless I posted after the fact as I sometimes do..
I did use last years potting soil hence beasties. Can't think of anything allelopathic that was in there.
Oh well, live and learn.

A little update from area 51. Aphids have moved in but, I'm getting on top of that problem. Going to have to re-sow all my jalapenos and sweet peppers nothing has germinated. I don't think my propagator is very well, i've noticed it's only heating the middle of my trays.
Everyone else is doing OK I think
I've done a bit of re-potting as well, must do some more.
