I just checked mine last night and it is approx 48" (4ft) wide...Do you think the piping structure will be stable and strong enough at 48" wide cross pieces?

My chilies seem to be doing well at the mo at their different places around the house.
My red cherry under the grow light seem to have the tips of the leave turning white and dry. The others varieties are ok. I have raised the grow lights but do I need to cut the leaves to stop it spreading and getting more burned!
Maybe I should prune those dead branches just above the new growth and give it a feed?
Oh and be careful not to overwater - as yet, it doesn't have many leaves to lose water through transpiration, so it would be easy for it to get waterlogged.

Just take off the scorched leaves and move light up..

Just had a look in the airing cupboard at my chilli seeds for this year and two of the five La Paz Rojo chilli – Capsicum Pubescens seeds have germinated and are just showing the first sign of a white tip of root emerging from the seed pod.
This unusual and rare chilli species name, pubescens, means hairy, which refers to the hairy leaves of this pepper. The hairiness of the leaves, along with the black seeds, distinguish this species from others. As they reach a relatively advanced age and the roots lignify quickly, sometimes they are called tree chili.

I have seen that exact same text about C. Pubs in several places, including Wikipedia and:
