  • Seedlings growing slowly, mainly due to lack of light at this time of year, but at least they're getting established.

Potted up first seedlings this morning. Three pepper seedlings in the same pot have now been transferred to their own individual larger pots.

    • Still can't post pics but I have made the frame for the Growlight, so thanks to Deano for the tips...
Will post my list tomorrow hopefully...
I dream of a better tomorrow, where chickens can cross the road and not be questioned about their motives....

      • I just watched Countryfile where commercial growers were putting up strings about 10 feet high to grow chillies up, what sort would they be?

In commercial growing conditions, the light, heat, nutrients, water etc will be optimised so the plants can grow to great height and size and productivity.

From Thanet Earth: 'The plants can grow to great lengths. Pepper plants will reach several metres tall, and some varieties of tomato plants will reach over 15 metres in total. '

                  Impressive list, Trip.
I've got seeds for more than 38 varieties, as I'm guessing you have?
But not the space, so I'm still aiming for *only* around 30 varieties of chillies and sweet peppers combined

Indeed I do Chris...I could have grown a few varieties more if I wanted to, but you have to stop somewhere

I think my Sweet Peppers list is much reduced this year due to my over- enthuasiastic chilli seed sowing...

                      • I've booked a last-minute holiday for next week. Other half will be left home alone in charge of cats and chillies. What could possibly go wrong???

                        • Very healthy looking plants Trip. When did you sow them?

And when your back stops aching,
And your hands begin to harden.
You will find yourself a partner,
In the glory of the garden.

                              • That may be an indication that they are a bit stressed. The plant isn't big enough to hold the fruit yet. It may be wise to pinch them off. What chilli cariety is it?
