I planted carrots in a bucket of seived garden soil in March. The slugs ate all but two carrots as soon as they appeared. The remaining two were harvested yesterday - jolly good they were too. Can I re-sow carrots in that bucket or would I be better to use fresh soil? If I need to use fresh soil, what would be okay to plant in that bucket please?

I would think you could use the same soil - once more at least. You don't add fertilizer for carrots so the fact that it's a bit depleted shouldn't matter. Unless someone else knows better?Whoever plants a garden believes in the future.

Shouldn't be a problem at all, maybe just top up the soil and mix it up a bit. If you plant them now they will be ready as baby carrots later in the year!
I plant carrots everywhere this time of year!
To stop the pesty wotsits, i stick 2 lines of copper tape around the buckets as it prevents the slugs climbing up.
