  • Thinning out

So am I the only one who feels guilty when I am deciding which seedlings live.....or die?
I bought some bamboo canes from Homemade and some Enviromesh tunnels, netting and jute today. That's my March spend. I am going to try my hand at making pea netting for the peas etc to climb. It doesn't look too difficult. Which wins between growbags and pots?

      • In the gh lots of flowers. Then when it turned cold and dark I sowed some more only they were pink as I was ordered by my oldest. It is ok though, they will go with the two pink hedgehogs (a girl and a boy) that my oldest was putting water out for

Then indoors some more peppers and a few different cues.

PS No we don't actually have pink hedgehogs before anyone reports me for animal cruelty

Edit: Sappadis where did you get your seeds from?

        • At the minute I can't sow anything else until its warm enough to put my growhouses up as I have no windowsill space left.

            • I sowed the first peppers (Pimento di padron and some aged purple jalapeno) a week ago, and have the first babby plants popping up now, and sowed the first tomatoes yesterday. Tomorrow I should start with the sweet peas and broad beans.

I've found having a February holiday is an excellent way of preventing me from sowing too early

                    • Re starting some Chillies after cremating some really nice wee plants, gutted, sat in the heated propagator in some damp kitchen towel to see if it helps with germination. Will get some lighter MPC instead of the John Innes in case that contributed to my rather clumsy first attempt at growing them.
