Watercress tonight, from pot to plate - perfect

3 and a half pounds of strawberries, 5 lb blackcurrants, 18 lb gooseberries, 20 lb rhubarb.
And 8lb of broad beans, safely stowed in the freezer. A couple of pounds of strawberries that have been eaten, mainly by my granddaughter.

A bag of chard, and a bag of kale and a handful of peas.

Chives have really taken off recently.

Go really well with Red Leicester in a cheese omelette

Had a furtle around in the half barrel where I planted out left over potatoes from Christmas time. Picked 6 and we had them with a salad. Dont know the variety, only know they were lovely.
Picked mixed lettuce, rocket and garlic chives as well.
Started harvesting the strawberries and a few raspberries.
Love this time of the year when you feel all the hard work was worthwhile.

Celtuce - wanted to try this to see if it does have a mix of lettuce and celery, the leaves do taste of lettuce, will try the stalk in my salad tomorrow. Also harvested the charlotte potatoes, some beetroot and also saved the leaves of these for a colleague at work (I will try beet leaf myself from the second harvest), also harvested swiss chard which is starting to bolt, kale and perpetual spinach.

Just strawberries which I had with a banana and yoghurt for breakfast and watercress with my dinner tonight

My entire spinach crop that's bolted in the heat, its now in the freezer waiting to be turned in to Saag Aloo I've still got the perpetual spinach crop though so its not all bad.
