Just a bit of hope for those of you who worry about your little spindly grass-like onions ever developing...
FINALLY, after about four months, the handful of Red Beard spring onions I sowed with some carrots are beginning to show signs of fattening.
I have never managed to make them come to maturity (and I only grow them for other people anyway) so I chucked a few seeds in with some carrots in a pot. The carrots have been pulled, and the onions are now beginning to look more like they should.
There's a way to go, but I am optimistic.
So the lesson is... patience, patience, patience
