Did you see this bit from my link..

"Usually, the vegetables that are described as determinate or indeterminate are the ones where the fruit is the edible part of the plant; tomatoes, peppers, peas and beans and perhaps cucumbers or melons being the vegetables where you are most likely to see the term used. "

Melons , peppers and cucumbers too!

So, not only do we have to consider growing successional varieties depending on the season, we've now got to consider whether we want determinate or indeterminate varieties.............just when you think you've got it sussed...............

              Determinate and indeterminate potatoes

As I understand it, determinate potatoes are usually early varieties which once the plant grows through the soil for the first time even though the soil is layered over them they will not grow any potatoes above that line (which apparently is called the green line). Indeterminate varieties, will grow potatoes all the way up the stem with further soil layering. I read this online when looking up the best varieties for planting in containers. Hope this helps.
