It sounds like a great idea and I don't like to be a naysayer but... is there the possibility that fungal disorders affecting the first ones to finish might spread to the taller and later varieties more readily than they otherwise would?

No idea, Snoopy I don't have much luck with podded peas - so just grow a few to browse on. Bijou MT is my standby so, if it survives I'll be happy

I don't do well with any peas except Douce Provence, so I've given up on other varieties.

I tried it with dwarf and climbing French beans, didn't work as the dwarfs were swamped and starved of light(and probably nutrients as well.

If you have somewhere to shove them (I mean tenderly plant them) how about growing tall peas down and then a few weeks later tall peas up. If it worked they would wrap around each other for support and create a bit of tension between the top and bottom plants making them easier to pick.
I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work. Thomas A. Edison

I'll keep them indoors until the shoots are an inch or two high then pot up the nests. Let the roots go down into some compost and, eventually, plant them out somewhere!
Just making it up as I go along - as usual

                Ignore what I wrote above

I put them out in the GH on the ironing board for a couple of days.
                Here they are today:-

Decisions, decisions! To pot up or plant out
The "no fuss" me decided to bung 'em out now. The weather is quite mild and the overnight temps are good, so in they went:-

Grow strong, little peas. Future sales of cotton wool may depend on you

Looks like its worked well VC so it wasn't a daft idea after all.
                  Location....East Midlands.

There's a long time to wait between planting some nests and finding out whether 6 peas of different heights will grow together
I'm pleased with the cotton wool bit though and will use it again. Its much cleaner to handle than compost, especially when you're sowing in the kitchen

I'm not doing quite the same thing but have various tall peas growing up an arch over a concrete path (& more to go out soon and more to sow). There's a bit of a gap between the arch and the path so will be planting out some dwarf peas at the Base.

No medium sized ones, but in the words of meatloaf " two out of three ain't bad"
                        Another happy Nutter...

The flowers are pretty too and different colours. Some plain white and some purply, blue, mauve pink.
                              Like mini sweetpeas

The crazy mangetout have galloped to the top of their supports and are clambering over the GH roof.
I'm picking them every other day

Its been a worthwhile experiment and I'll do it again BUT I won't bother with the very short ones (Norli) next time. It didn't crop any earlier than the taller ones and the pods are small.
The best performers have been Bijou (huge pods) and Golden Sweet (smaller slimmer pods).
Shiraz, with purple pods, showed up well for picking but the pods are quite small and seemed to fill up with a couple of peas quite quickly.

I can't tell the other 2 apart - they're both green and OK.
