After a couple of non starters we finally have a pollinated fruit (although I had to do the deed myself..). It's got a fair way to go to catch up with yours SP

Humphrey & his baby may not be long for this world
Yesterday I found gray mold on the stem that baby is growing on. Right at the joint from the main stem. Unfortunately that joint and stem are only 2" above the root stock. So I see no point in trying to get another fruit to set on a different stem. So if the worst come to the worst can I cut baby off and ripen him in the tunnel?
Do I need to re treat or is it a one off application?
From experience one hit is sufficient but I'd guess it depends how long it's been until the first aid gets there.
What's to lose by giving it a second or third dose. Come on Humphrey - hang in there..
I have three pumpkins set so far and all doing well, just shy of bowling ball size at the moment, my marrows were looking good plants seemed prolific, set a nice marrow on each plant and culled the rest and then as they started to grow mildew has started so looks like im stuffed.. put milky water on them but if that doesnt work its time to scrap the plants and be sad till next year, I dont have money to throw at fancy potions so now its fingers crossed and hope and pray they grow even if the plant looks a bit tired and poorly
