Aldi seeds.

Looking at Aldi seed packets yesterday.99p for a packet of 8 variety's. Bought 3 packets to try. More seed in A single packet than in a lot of the well known names. Always done well with there seed.

I've just bought a gooseberry and raspberry plant from aldi to. They look really healthy.

Find Aldis plants good but you have to get them as soon as they come in.

I bought loads of packets of various veg seeds from aldi last year at the end of season for 10p a packet, worth a go at that price.

Spent the day having to throw out a lot of Aldi seedlings and potting on the others. Far to many to be able to use. Very high germination. Still trying to figure out how the dearer seeds that I look after never do as well as the cheap seed which one is less fussy with.

I think that's the answer - we fuss them too much. When some seeds cost £1 each, you need them to grow and mollycoddle them. Nobody wants to throw an expensive seed in the compost.
Five packets for £1 is another matter. There's a lot in favour of cheap and cheerful

It could be similar to the £1 for two litres of milk knacking the dairy producers though As long as the seed suppliers are making a reasonable living out of it, and its sustainable.
