    Asparagus variety?

    I've prepared an asparagus bed and now need to send for the crowns.
    I'd like a mid size spear ( not pencil skinny but not jumbo) not the purple variety
    I thought maybe ...Pacific.
    Can any one recommend. I thought one variety would suffice. Do I need more? It's for an allotment an other growers are near by.

    The green ones I have are Mondeo. Some spears are thinner and some thicker but none are full on jumbo.

      It's my 1st year with Asparagus & am waiting delivery of Pacific 2000, Ariane & Millennium. Sorry that doesn't answer your question.

            BM, that is exactly the same Deal I ordered almost 4 years ago, and can actually say hand on heart, you will definitely not be disappointed!

            Although patience and a little TLC as to be awarded!

                Just make sure you incorporate hugging's and hugging's of grit in your prepared beds, when you think you have enough, put a little more in!
