Some of us tried this a while back. They grow roots and can be planted out but they go to seed.

Thanks for the link but
"And here are some results just in from the leek, celery and chard that arrived a couple of weeks ago
Attachment 35782"
Thread would be useful IF the computer guys could re map the photos !!!!
It's blinking annoying, have the IT guys actually stated that the photos are there but need remapping or that they have gone forever? It is after all over three months since the crash, and many more since we were supposed to be getting a bright new forum to play with.Last edited by Cadalot; 18-03-2017, 06:11 AM.

There's no point trying to help you, is there? You just jump on your soapbox again.
It may surprise you but the celery photo is still there at http://www.growfruitandveg.co.uk/gra...ml#post1111142.

Is this the celery photo You're talking about VC? It's still available from that thread because it's a link to Twitter, not an actual attachment Twitpic - Share photos and videos on Twitter
I'm having no luck with any of the attachments, which is a pity because it reduces the value of this forum as an archive of information. I find old threads often come up in Goggle searches, which is how I discovered the Grapevine in the first place. Hope they do manage to fix it before long.
But sure, that's going off topic for this thread. Let's get back to sprouting celery. Not my favourite veg so I'm unlikely to try it, but it's interesting to see the results.
