Greenhouse too hot

Hi all hope someone can help

I have a glass greenhouse this year,

It is 8x6ft

I leave the window open and the door open
I have also added whitewash shading to the panes that the light hits during the peak of the day

But I am still hitting temps of 89f
It's only April :/ only going to get hotter
Any ideas?

I cover mine with debris netting and wet it down, if you have slabs in there wet them down as well, other than that solar powered extractor fans to move the air in and out.

my first GH so not sure how affective itll be but one of the poundshops sell netting, small mesh so its quite thick... ive put up some curtain netting wire and threaded the netting tru that in effect having an entire side + roof section of net. plants can also climb assuming its held strong enough.

If it gets really hot in mid summer then you might have to remove a pain of glass from the back of the greenhouse. That will get a bit more air flowing through.

I have side louvres as well to aid air flow, I guess a door at each end would maybe solve the problem.

we have been looking forward all week to the forecast "heatwave", well, its here and I don't know how we will cope , it is midday and it is 12deg, wwoooww, I don't know how we will cope with it all, I really don't..

Louver auto vent openers are a brilliant extra. Fitted them last winter and they work well.
Out fishing and the tem. was 18 degrees on the car with the sunroof open. Summer here??

seems a shame to shade so much sun though,

89F isn't too hot. for most greenhouse plants. If you leave the door and window open they shouldn't cook. The main problems is, when it is hot, having to keep the contents well watered and if you grow tomatoes, that you grow varieties that don't get greenback - and even getting some greenback tomatoes is not the end of the world.
I've got a 6x8 greenhouse with one opening window (with an automatic opener). I've mainly grown tomatoes but also peppers and aubergines in it and never had a really bad year. One year, with a mild autumn, was still getting tomatoes at Christmas. I've never bothered with any shading.
What I am going to do is install a watering system so I can turn a tap on to water it to save time particularly if we do get a nice hot spell.
