I am new (last year) to composting and bought some 'biodegradable' caddy liner bags to reduce work when washing out the caddy. We have steadily been filling two plastic daleks over the last year. I opened one last week to find that all the loose waste was lovely black crumbly stuff ready to use but everything that remained in the supposedly biodegradable bags was sealed in brown or white sludge that was a long long way from being ready.
I cut up all the bags with my spade and reloaded the bin but will have to start the wait again.
No more compost bags being used in our household
