Repotting my pepper plant

I have a pepper plant on my windowsill that's a few months old. It's doing quite well and I decided not to top it so it would fruit earlier. It's in a 4 inch pot still because space is limited and now it's started to flower. I'd like to upgrade its pot size if its going to start fruiting soon but don't want to stress it too much while it's flowering. Is it ok to repot it?
It's only my second year with peppers and last year they got aphids and the flowers fell off so I'm perhaps worrying too much.
