Organic Seaweed Extract

Any one tried this as an organic way to feed your plants ?

I am thinking of shropshire seaweed extract

Shropshire seaweed is the best stuff in the world.

I absolutely love it, my magic spray.

Strictly speaking it isn't a 'feed' it's more like a tonic full of good things to stimulate healthy growth

I emailed them about how much to use to revitalize my potting mix for next year and they said 5 litres , which I found difficult to understand

How do you administer it , do you mix it in water , How much do you give ?

I use it as a foliar soliar spray, i, spray the leaves

Best with a sprayer but if you dont have one a watering can is fine

I do everything once a week, I do notice a massive difference

These seaweed extracts are concentrated so need diluting in water,about 10ml of extract in 5Litres of water.

Jungle Jane How much Would use to revitalize lets say 10-20 litres of potting mix for the next season

I'd put 10 ml in 5L of water. I've got a 10L pot with last years lemongrass in it & whenever I water it,I put a little bit of seaweed extract in the water,it gives a very light nitrogen & potassium feed as well as other nutrients.

Do you stay near the coast Tarragon, if so collect some seaweed (if allowed) and make your own seaweed feed
One other question with the number of posts you are submitting (not a complaint) are you related to VC by any chance

so jungle jane you give a little bit of of seaweed regularly , But If I have really old soil to revitalize it with the nutrients it needs what would you estimate I need to get it back to its old productive self

I'd use some blood fish & bone for refreshing old compost,it has the application rates on the packaging

Blood,fish & bone is a slow release fertiliser n.p.k 5-5-6 so it's a good balance of nutrients...
