OH has suddenly mentioned a desire to grow potatoes as something fun for the children. I know several of you grow them in flower buckets, bit they don't seem big enough - how many do you put in each one? Flower buckets I have are about 1 litre....

The flower buckets are ordinary household bucket size. I put one decent size spud in each or 2/3 small ones.

I have always found that spuds grow better in the soil if you have enough room. It is also costly to grow them in buckets unlwess you make your own compost.
I have all my tatties planted at the allotment so gave an allotment heighbour a large box full of buckshee seed tatties. There must have been at least 100 spuds and I notice he has got little holes dug all over his plot in amongst other veg and is popping them in.My Majesty made for him a garden anew in order
