The Very Silly Carrot Challenge!

Would you like to join me in a silly experiment

Aim :- To grow a carrot inside a plastic milk container or similar.

You need a 2/4 pint plastic container with a few drain holes poked in the sides, an inch or so above the base.
Some compost to pour down the neck of the container - to fill it to the half/threequarter mark.
Add some water - not too much!
Drop a pinch of carrot seeds down the neck
Stand the container somewhere warm and sit back until the carrot leaves emerge from the neck of the container!

We'll worry about getting the carrots out later

I'll join in but first I need to cadge a container from someone, our milk man delivers using glass bottles.

Pinch of seeds? Please clarify, have no idea how many can grow but I'll give it a go

A pinch = what you can pick up between your thumb and forefinger or, in this case about 3-4.
I'm just playing - this isn''t serious growing! No rules - make it up as you go along

Ok here we go. Forgot how small the seeds were so dumped a stupid sized handful in to be safe.
These are the same seeds as what's in the bucket... flyaway f1. Will look silly if they grow so tall

Well I have enlisted the help of my young daughters and we are all set! I had a pack of early nantes spare so used them.. will keep you posted as the weeks go by.. I just prey they germinate or im going to look silly
