I've got significant areas of the plot ready for their crops before the crops are ready to go out. It's usually the other way round.

I've achieved this after returning to work after adoption leave and before the 3yo is in full-time school by getting on the plot at dawn before work on the two days a week when I don't have to do nursery/school drop off.

    I am rather proud.

The absolute star of the garden so far this year has to be the Red Russian kale (or is it called borecole). Ok it was planted last year but the cropping it's given since the turn of the year has been superb. Even now the flower stems are tasty and tender and are so abundant. It's been so good I'm wondering whether to bother with purple sprouting broc this year and grow more Red Russian instead.
