What to grow in milk containers?!

Ok someone made me plant carrots in one so naturally I'm wondering what else can grow in one. Or loads. Initial thoughts were pea plans, have some containers on a bit of rope through the handles and have peas flowing from the top to the ground.
What else would do that? Don't know what has large or small roots.

god knows, but she's not telling

peas might work - for most thing its going to be a combination of watering and nutirent - having said that I've had no luck with carrot in the ground so carots in a milk bottle will do me if it works.

Milk cartons are my main starters for tomatoes and chillis.
I start them off in a little plastic tray , the ones you get mushrooms in from the supermarket.
Once they appear I move them on to the little plastic drinking cups, I get them from the pound shop, 50 or so for a pound.
I use these to pass on any toms to relatives and neighbours, because I never get the pots back.
The ones I keep get potted on into the bottom of 4 litre milk containers, nice and big.
This sees them over to the time they go into grow bags, either in the greenhouse or outside.
The 4 litre container allows them to stay in there for as long as I need until conditions are right for grow bags.

Also I use the tops of the 4 litre cartons thus..
I grow three toms in a grow bag. I get 2 milk carton tops and push them into the grow bag between the toms, down to the bottom of the bag.
It's then simple to water into these.
When I go on holiday a neighbour waters, I set up the hose pipe and all they have to do it point it into the cartons.

To add to what Jimmy wrote, I'd say anything (feasible) where your primary motivation was to correct a spindly or wonky stem and/or encourage additional rooting by burying up to the first leaves (or even second if you cut the first leaves off - tried this, seems to cause no problems). The height but narrow width of a milk container (and also Pot Noodle King Size pots as I have recently discovered ) make them perfect for this, as you get the required depth but without having to have a huge pot. If you want to pot on at a later date into something more conventional, you'll automatically gain additional volume without needing to go for a deeper pot. (Chillies and tomatoes would certainly be the obvious choice for this).
