I've got both either side neighbours interested in growing toms so they have my spare plants, then our daughter shares my seedlings anything else spare goes to the charity shop.
      Location....East Midlands.

I must admit, I was just wondering why I am growing something in excess of 40 Strawberry plants.
The Clucky has 10 Strawbs hanging outside her run, together with 5 Tomper plants sitting next to the run for when she fancies a snack.
9 Gooseberries, 4 Blackcurrants + loads lettuce (40+ & Coriander), Radishes eaten every day (at least 15 /day for the last 3 weeks, 80 bunches of spring onions that look like they will all mature at once, 300 + Beetroot (4 varieties)
The blackbirds must be wondering why there is so much, as they sit on the fence licking their lips.
Not ott at all, for 2 of us.

Feed the soil, not the plants.

Just the two of us too. I grow too much, and Mr Snoop complains about things being thrown away after all the effort of watering them. But I argue that you have to grow too much to ensure you have enough.

Only 40 strawberry plants? Just been out to count mine (which is tricky as some are in tower pots and some of those have died). There are roughly 100, give or take a few, plus 5 pots of wild strawberries (3 plants each).

Last year, having planted loads of new plants in the hope of making jam, I had a complete disaster with them. First the frost got them, then the wet spring caused a lot of the green fruit to rot, then they got some kind of little maggots in them and finally the wasps ate them. I probably averaged less than a strawberry per plant, and jam was a non-starter. Hoping for better this year!
