Ever noticed how big the weeds are surrounding your compost heap?
As I now have a large selection of green composters, and two empty overgrown plots on either side of me, this year i'm making some of my allotment beds into keyhole style beds.
the plan is to strim/mow the plots either side and use the resulting, waste along with anything else I can scrounge up to fill the composters which have been placed in the middle of some of my raised beds.
I am then going to plant out Tomatoes, pumpkins & squashes at the edges of the composter and continue to water the bins and top up with compostables as the season progresses.
this should aid water retention, feed the plants, and at the end of the year I can just lift the Dalek and spread the resulting compost.
