never grown it before but am i right in thinking the tall ones have bolted and i may as well pull them up ?

I think you may have a few other things mixed in with the celeriac- So definitely worth pulling out the intruders!

My celeriac are still under an inch tall, but their leaves look a bit like parsley. Sorry I can't upload pictures from here, but easy enough to find if you google celeriac leaves images!

              Celeriac does look like celery....sorry!

But..having said that, you won't be alone in growing weeds....honestly!
I sowed directly i to the ground some flower seeds once and very selectively weeded out everything I thought was a weed....only to find I'd grown one type of weed!

Pull out the ones which don't look like celery...leave the ones you're not sure about...you'll soon know

Been there , done that...tis normal to mix stuff up

lol yea just puzzled these were started in a pot of proper compost so no weeds and and I threw big handful in and they all seemed to germinate. I could understand if i sowed out side. Very odd but never mind at least I now have some extra room

Don't worry, we've all done it!
That rosebay willow herb looks exactly like what I carefully nurtured from a packet of mint seeds last year....
At least now I know what I should have called it ;-)

Marshall's are dispatching Celeriac Monarch plants currently if you want a cheating way of catching up on poor/ non existent germination

Thanks but at £7.99 for 12 I think I will give it a miss.
Will my seeds keep till next year ?

Yes, they dhould be fine. I got a few years out of my pack.
Having said that, I just couldnt grew celeriac successfully. I kept them well watered so they were never too dry , trimmed off the dide growths. Kept them free from pests and they looked super healthy but, they still ended up being a tangle of roots just didnt form into a proper shape. They also need a long growing season so make sure they earn their space in your garden.

And when your back stops aching,
And your hands begin to harden.
You will find yourself a partner,
In the glory of the garden.
