  • Cauliflowers - Planting Out

Hi Peeps. My Cauliflowers are planted in plugs and are now about 2 inch tall. They were in the greenhouse but now hardened off. Variety is "All Year Round.

Should I plant them in their final position in my raised beds or wait until they are bigger?

    Kind Regards.......Rob

far to small to go in the open ground,i put mine in a larger pot each, like the chuckaway plastic cups, they are deeper and better for the roots, this gives room to grow stronger, the stem will thicken up,and more leaves, when the plants are aprox 7 in tall bury them deeper, but make sure the centre lead shute is clear, poddle them in before repacing all the soil,
sigpicAnother nutter ,wife, mother, nan and nanan, love my growing places, seed collection and sharing, also one of these

I like all my plants to be a decent size before planting out it gives them more chance against the slugs.
        Location....East Midlands.

The nearest ones are Golden Acre Primo cabbage and the others a Romanesque Cauli's, been in for several weeks, planted straight out of 1 inch cells at about 3 inch high. The local farmers plant theirs out in the fields at pretty much the same sort of size.
