  • Garlic ready to go ..

Some of the garlic are yellowing as per photo. I've pulled a few. Can these be eaten now? I'm storing most of them, so I will leave them on the ground in the sun under netting and then store in orange vegetable sacks that I have in the shed. Tips welcome.

You can eat garlic any time! Sounds like you've got the drying and storage arrangements in hand. However, if you're still getting morning dews, you might find they'll dry better off the ground and be less prone to mould.

Mine are a long way off being ready. I reckon I've got a couple of months before they put up flower heads and then another three weeks after that. So I'm distinctly jealous!

Wait - they have to put up flower heads and then you wait 3 weeks after that? I thought they just went all floppy and yellow like onions and then got lifted to dry - glad you said that! Mine have rust but apparently that's ok so..

Don't worry, not all varieties make a flower head! If the bulbs are big enough, and the leaves have started to yellow, then just carry on drying them
