Why?!? If you scrape off the top you'll scrape off the seeds. Sit back and relax - GIVE THEM A CHANCE TO DO SOMETHING, it's not instant. It can take several weeks before you see the first seedling - assuming that they have a chance.

OK, so your radish is sprouting now - that's good. Radishes germinate quicker than other stuff so please don't panic if the other seeds haven't germinated as quick.

Don't start watering them straight away as there is probably enough water in the soil already.

Pick the pot up and see how heavy it is. As the soil dries it will get lighter.

You can stick your finger into the soil to check the moisture - if it's still damp UNDERNEATH it's ok. The surface will dry out quicker and look as if the soil is parched but it's underneath that counts.

Tarragon, I've merged this thread about Rain with your other thread about Rain.
The same advice applies as in your first thread - Rain happens, plants are used to it, in fact they like rain, they need rain. Stop worrying about it, please!

Think of it as a break from watering

As has clearly been stated many times in response to your threads PLANTS NEED RAIN

But if you feel it necessary to deprive your plants of their life essence and constantly jiggle them around and potentially stress them go ahead.

Whilst you're at it you could dig up the lemon balm and hide it in the kitchen and possibly uproot the trees (bigger plants therefore must hate the rain even more) and keep them in the living room until this murderous toxic foul deluge has ceased.

One it has subsided you can then replant out - although they will need copiously overwatering but if you're lucky it might rain...

What are you going to do when the sun shines - this can dry out the plants and scorch their leaves. Not to mention that a slight breeze can make the stems wobble.

They're plants, they've evolved to cope with rain. Rain water is probably better for them than tap water.

I'll take rain any day sooner than wind.

Unless they are teeny tiny seedlings that have sprouted in the last day or so and might get washed away leave the pots alone. A bit of rain wont hurt. Plants like rain.
