Is nearly up to the eaves, but only has 3 trusses - when all the other toms have produced 4

It is growing 3 sets of leaves between flower trusses, where most tomatoes grow 2 sets. Is that just this plant or do all BI grow in the same way? It will result in a smaller crop than usual, if so.

That's never happened to me. Black icicle is usually one of my heaviest croppers too. Perhaps see if you can train up a missed side shoot?

Good idea, but unusually for me, I've been good at pinching them all out this year *sigh*
