ok, so it was too hot to go up to the allotment yesterday, and I really needed a proper chill day where my step count stays below 7k or so (achieved).

Today however, I woke up earlier and went off to the plot to pick some pears and to get some veg sown. And I got it all done!
I cut off all the chard flowers and brough some home for the chicken.
I gave everything a thorough soak, by leaving the sprayer on in various directions whilst I tended to the plot.

I went home, sowed some spinach, admired my first ranunculus that have given me a beautiful flower, picked some cucamelons that I'm taking with me to work for my colleagues to try, and I will pick some perilla in the morning too.

Today's main job, now it is cool enough to spend more time than is absolutely necessary in the greenhouses, is to prune and cut back the overgrown jungles they are turning into. I have been having to fight my way in through rampant vines and wayward tomatoes.

I'm prepping some food to take to our allotment site barbeque tomorrow afternoon, but hoping to get up there early to potter around a bit. I have a new bed to sow into, and it might be a herb garden, and maybe I'll be brave and sow some cabbage direct.
I am hoping there will be some squash ready for picking - I feel like I've missed out on courgettes and squashes this year.

Used some of my lovely black muck and a little homemade compost to prep a large no dig bed with 2" of mulch. That will be the onion sets and garlic sorted.
Next up will be preping a raised bed for the winter greens and some late winter root crops like sweede and carrots.
