    • Well I picked some bullaces and elderberry out on my walk this morning, so some prep work this evening to prepare bullaces for gin and clean strip and freeze the elderberries ready for syrup the end of the month.
      Also harvested
Tomatoes for lunch (cuore di bue, and sungolds)
      Runner beans
      Sweetcorn for tea
I'm only here cos I got on the wrong bus.

        • Just off to the plot for anything up to 8 hours uninterrupted peace and quiet, just what I need after painting the town red last night
Watering gh, harvesting, weeding and planting (spring cabbages, oriental veg, and chard I started in modules).

          • Weather permitting (some forecasts are saying heavy rain and others that'll it'll just be the odd light shower here in Northumberland!) I'll be continuing with clearing the weeds from the allotment

Jobs for the next five days include.....

First job is the big patch of nettles around the shed so we can then gain access once more!

Second is to clear out the greenhouse, wash glass, fix/replace a couple of cracked panes and get it ready for overwintering stuff.

Third = clear away the weeds and the cardoon along the side fence as Neil will be putting sleepers against it in order to raise the soil level

Fourth job is to completely clear all of the weeds out of the raised beds in the rotten polytunnel frame so we can start to remove the soil. Once this is done *may take some time!* we are dismantling the rotten frames and clearing the area in preparation for Neil building his new shed there...as well as possibly my chicken run

The whole plot needs to be stripped back to bare soil with all weeds removed so I can start afresh

                            • Tomorrow is Weednesday and my Weed of the Day will be Enchanter's Nightshade https://www.naturespot.org.uk/specie...ers-nightshade
Its at the seeding stage with sticky little bobbles that cling to the dogs' fur and are difficult to brush out.
Tomorrow I shall pull all the plants I can find in an hour.
