Stay inside and keep warm! - mostly
        Planning - in progress
Harvest carrots from garage if defrosted - done

Too cold, icy and slippery to do anything much, but I did prise off some of the thick layer of ice outside the garage door in the hope of making it less dangerous.

        Weekend jobs
As there is currently snow on frozen ground and tonight is forecast to be -5, I probably won't get any gardening done this weekend. Hopefully I will get a chance to nip down to the allotment and check that all is still ok. I might take some photos if I can remember and its not too cold.

        • It's still fairly mild here, even though I'm not physically far from Penelype, but snow on the ground today. I tried to put up some more fencing along the perimeter of the plot, as it's a windy site, but I'd forgotten to bring my sledgehammer, and a hammer ain't enough to drive down fence posts lol I'll try again tomorrow.

Added a bed in the grow tunnel and filled it with well rotted horse manure. Will add a layer of home made compost before I grow in it in the spring.

          • As predicted all that got done at the weekend was a few photos of the allotment (on my allotment thread) as everything was frozen solid.

            Monday jobs

Phone the man at the council and try to find out when they are going to remove the hedge
Assess state of ground at allotment and decide if anything can be done yet
Possibly start on shifting some compost
Harvest final few small tomatoes, lettuce, beetroot, peppers

                • Despite the forecast of heavy rain and strong winds I need to go up to the allotment to finish off a few greenhouse jobs.

1: Set out potatoes in trays to chit.

2: Finish potting up a few bags of spring bulbs I'd forgotten where in the shed *whoopsie* so I'm sticking them in pots for now and hope they make up for lost time

3: Back home......sow sweet peas and Walla Walla onions.

There'll probably be more jobs I've forgotten about at the moment which will come to me once I'm up on the plot

                        • Time to...

                          Get some seedlings potted on
Get some new seeds into the propagator

Continue with the laborious task of shifting 2 ton of compost from the drive to the back garden (through the newly renovated house...)
                          Try to root some rosemary
                          Chit some potatoes
                          Keep tidying the garden...
