If I get up early enough (famous last words), tomorrow morning, before there's a little more heat in the sun, I shall do a little bit of 'pot tidying'.

I have every intention to go up to the plot tomorrow and sow a whole load of seeds into the bed I prepared last weekend. I have a long list of seeds, and a big box of seed packs at the ready.

I will also pick a fair few pears, because they're weighing so heavy on the tree that I'm worried the branches will come off. It's really very heavy laden. Do pears ripen ok off the tree?

Pears should ripen off the tree providing they are a good size. If you put them near other ripe fruit they will ripen quicker.
