Just looking back through my Facebook feed on the memories bit. Seems husband was out cutting the grass today last year and the grass was covered in daisies! I'd called it 'Daisy Murder in Audlem'.
I've just placed an order for spuds, bedding plants etc - something to look forward to. Husband finished off a patio area today.aka

Weekend jobs
This weekend I intend to fill the hotbed, which will probably take all the time and energy I have available. It involves transporting several car loads of horse manure in trugs or buckets, carrying it to the hotbed and treading it down. I also need to go to the garden centre for 3 bags of compost to top it up with, and find a cover for it to keep the heat in.
The job may spill over into Monday depending on whether there is enough muck in the trailer or whether it has recently been emptied.A life is like a garden. Perfect moments can be had, but not preserved, except in memory. LLAP. - Leonard Nimoy

Went through flower and herb seeds. Any old or doubles I’ve mixed together in tub to scatter sow in Spring. I enjoy the strange variety that grows. I’ve add some old carrot seeds to the mix and might add more veg when I go through those.
Added some more ripped newspapers to base of new mini raised beds for summer bulbs.Elsie

Over the weekend I transported 24 buckets of horse manure to the allotment and filled the hotbed. I tried to get some compost from the garden centre but it was shut despite saying it was open online.

Harvest lettuce, carrots - done plus a tomato
Had a bit more time than I expected so also cut off a low branch from the weigela bush and one of the 2 stems of the white currant cordon, which was too close to the apple tree. Removed the tomato supports from near the fence as the lawn was just about dry enough to step on, and pulled out the remains of the bedding plants.

Planted 40 broad beans in modules, will move to plot once beds are completed
Ordered a few more bits from linkabord to supplement my 10/15 year old kit. I hoping to have my first 3 beds in the allotments ready in a couple of weeks. All 3 will be 1.5 x 3 metres, will be used for strawberries, onions/garlic, and BB's.Last edited by broadway; 09-01-2020, 03:47 PM.Cheers
