I've made a kind of shelter for my tomatoes against the prevailing wind. I don't know if it'll be any good or not, the closed side faces the sun's trajectory so I'm hoping it will concentrate the heat a bit. Looks more like the entrance to a boudoir than a solid horticultural construct, but am pleased with it nevertheless! Ahem don't look at my rusty garlic please..

I agree every little helps but...... is that a green 6 x 6 trough you have 3 tomato plants in. If so you might want to change things before the warm weather arrives, get 3 12ltr black flower pots and transplant them one per pot..Potty by name Potty by nature.

When I was a teenager before Mother bought me a proper greenhouse, I made a rickety plastic lean to on the side of our outhouse. It was south facing and I think the outhouse bricks soaked up the sun.
It look similar to yours but was fully enclosed with a door of sorts.
Toms grew in the ground.
We had the best toms I have ever seen.
Thanks

If you nip to somewhere like Morrisons you can buy black flower buckets for use with cut flowers, they are ridiculously cheap under a quid for 8. You will need to put drainage hole in the bottom but they are great for many things. Tomatoes one per bucket is ideal, even then you will be watering once a day during warm weather.Potty by name Potty by nature.
