They destroy everything out there,I'm one sunflower down but I went out with a torch & found about 20 or so (slugs not sunflowers ) Have you had a look at night, probably the same slugs/snails are hiding out nearby right now. You could sow a couple more if there's no growth, they might be alright & grow more leaves. You could make some of these with plastic bottles & copper tape, they last for years & they can't get to the plants, then put a little bean inside. I hope your plants continue to grow!

Looks like there's a lot of new growing tips....they should pull through...if you can control the slugs!
Maybe they won't achieve their original height but be bushier?

Oh it's so annoying, happens here all the time. Nothing worse than going to bed at night having checked your lovely healthy plants and waking to utter devastation. My OH wonders why I continue to try to grow things as I hate killing anything. I can vouch for the copper tape as I used it on pots in which I had sown runners...beautiful healthy untouched plants. Would say you need to have a couple of strips all round the pots though. Hope your plants recover. JJ's idea looks great, definitely worth a try.

Looks like you've got plenty of growing tips left so if you can save them they should recover somewhat. The little slimes have munched the growing tips on half my Gigantes Runners but I'm hoping that the rest will pull through. Hopefully the wrens, robins, blackbirds, centipedes (got loads of these), black beetles and newts get together and help keep the slimies down.

I hate it when that happens they've eaten some of my sunflowers just got stalks left

if you've some spare seeds try re-sowing and keep them in pots until they're a good size.
