Anyone got any 'unusual' tips / tricks that they use to improve 'performance'?

Saw a post by Potty (think it was) who has been using Rock dust with good results - there's also been some typically weird stuff used in one of the chilli threads.

So - any techniques or products that enhance things for you? (To be clear, I'm referring to plant growing)

Sorry don't have any. Except my grandads secret for amazing leeks (which I haven't tried yet).

But I can't tell you that as it's a secret.

I've been using SB Plant invigorator on my greenhouse crops.
Fantastic results so far, packed out with mini cues.

Festooning fruit trees definitely increases yields. Covering leeks with pipes increases blanching.

I am using 'rock dust' for the first time this season as you say things are looking promising. But there are so many variables with gardening I will need a couple more seasons before I am sure its not the weather, good seed, plain good luck or what ever.

I don't have any weird tricks. A couple of years back I started adding ash from our woodburning stove (we burn mostly hard wood) to the beds I grow alliums, legumes, cucurbits, tomatoes, aubergines and peppers in, and that has made a distinct difference. Improved harvests and healthier plants.

I don't use foliar treatments because I'm worried about scorching the leaves if I do it in the morning or causing potential fungal problems if I do it at night.

Works well with powdered hens teeth.

I use a combination of the above. So nothing weird

I read the seed packet once and followed their instructions rather than the usual chuck where and when I think I will.

Is growing carrots under fleece weird?...they do way better than just being left to do their own thing.
Maybe it's the trapping of some of the overnight moisture ?
Works well with parsnips too.
