I have some runners on my strawberries which I want to pot up but I only have available some John Innes Seed compost. Could I use that to pot them up?

The potting compost will be light on nutrients so ok for a short time but if you leave them in it you will need to feed.Potty by name Potty by nature.

I've found that strawberry runners will pretty much grow anywhere and in any soil.
I found one in a pot on the windowsill of my shed that i had pegged down to root last summer the other week and it seems ok. A little water and its shot up.
Almost a year of no/little water and no attention didn't bother it too much...Last edited by Peteyd; 29-06-2017, 07:34 PM."Bulb: potential flower buried in Autumn, never to be seen again."
