  • Small Netting Supports.

What I have realised is that my plot doesn't lend itself to rectangular net supports for brassicas, soft fruit and carrots.
My intention is to make a host of smaller net covers in the shape of triangles squares, hexagons and circles.
This will hopefully look more aethetically pleasing and will be more suited to the 'pocket' planting I usually do.
I can visualise these supports in my minds eye but I would be keen to see piccies of similar net supports if anyone has any?

I don't have photos but old umbrellas, without the fabric cover, can be used to drape netting over and you can adjust the height by sticking the handle into a cane, or pushing it further into the ground.

Upturned wire hanging baskets are good dotted around over small clusters of plants.

I too don't have any pictures at the moment as i dismantled mine when we moved last year, but I use plastic underfloor heating pipe to make any strange shape net supports as it can easily be bent into the required shape. Most builders buy a bit too much and normally are happy to let you have it at a very reasonable price (I think i paid the price of two pints for more than i can use)

Monty uses small terracotta flower pots on top of canes and drapes the net over

Can be used for any shape then, although perhaps not very aesthetically pleasing!

Brollys sound useful given the number that you see abandoned in waste bins.

use 2 hazel sticks shove the ends into the ground so they cross in the middle and tie with string and you'll have a pyramid shape ,use 3 sticks and you'll have a round dome , use 30 sticks and you'll will have cut the whole tree down lol atb Dal

Once found a £20 in a waste bin. I wasn't rummaging, as I passed I thought that bin is full to the top, the council should empty them more often. On a second glance there was a £20 fluttering on the top. Suitably retrieved it!

What sort of sizes are you thinking, ext height and bottom shape's where they meet the soil,do they need to be straight up,as for brassica, and for only 1 plant.

Possibly for one plant but also for 3,5,7 and nine if need be.
