I have a lot of overgrown ground because of my physical inability to clear it and until I can I seen to be doing more and more container growth which is how I started in the beginning. Oh dear me!

I have the same problem. I keep threatening to properly clear the raspberry bed, but I've been going to do it for the last 3 years Not much fruit this year - so really must do it - but know it will be a real pain in the ...... back.
I only do the tough stuff on 'good days' when it really needs work on most days, so I never clear the 'list of things to do'. This year I've kept up with sowing and potting on, but have stuff hanging about that I really should have planted by now. Hey ho!
Think it is time to stop worrying about it and just do what we can and if I get a council 'weedy letter' then I'll just go back to growing stuff in pots in the garden, like you

Well I've just filled the green bin with grass, weeds and the like and can hardly see a difference I can feel it though! Thanks for the thought Damian. My mantra must be little and often and if I can get it down a bit I'll be able to smother it with something. Then I'll have to decide on the way forward and I haven't a clue!Granny on the Game in Sheffield

I hate to utter the blasphemous words but have you considered spraying it with weedkiller? get it back under your control and then slowly but surely clear it and keep on top of it, when I took on my plot it was a jungle and took weeks of hard graft, now its weed free I go down and weeding takes me 20 minutes per visit to keep on top of, or see if you can rope someone in to help thats willing to work for a bacon butty and a cup of tea lol
