Cucumber - Pruning

Would it be OK to prune the parts of the plant that are beginning to trail across the ground?

You can, just that more cucs will grow from that. Can't you lift it and train it to grow upwards?

Thanks for the replies, I forgot to mention they are already growing up a trellis and these trailers are spreading into the already small pathways.

Pruning it is then.

If you prune at the bottom off the plant it will continue to grow upwards. When they reach the top off the trellis can you fit in a piece of horizontal cord to grow them along that?
