Being a novice vegetable grower can anyone tell me if I sow peas now will I get an autumn crop to harvest? The peas I have available are Early Onward. I know they say that they can be sown up to and including June but is worth trying a sowing now?

You might be all right with early (short growing season) varieties if you have plenty of sunshine in your garden. Last year I sowed Terrain (a late variety) on 30th July, thinking I had plenty of time, but because the sun disappears from my garden very quickly once the days start to shorten, the plants flowered but the peas never really ripened.A life is like a garden. Perfect moments can be had, but not preserved, except in memory. LLAP. - Leonard Nimoy

Late Sowing Of Peas
Blimey, we never had firefighters like that in my day. If we had I would have refused to retire! All we had was a lot of big hairy blokes (not me of course I was refined ). Ahhhhhh how to make an old man feel really happy!
Best regards,
Greg

Late Sowing Of Peas
I sowed a row of peas yesterday in one of my raised beds having removed the last of my early cabbages. I checked the peas this morning but they haven’t grown yet!
You mention Pompiers. I had an association with a fire station in South West France back in the day. What a lovely bunch of chaps they were.
Best regards,
Greg
