Project of the Month Challenge

Does anyone fancy joining me in a Project of the Month Challenge?
The idea is to focus on one of those jobs or parts of the garden that you know needs work but keep putting off Those overgrown weedy corners, the shed that needs painting, the jobs that take more than a day to complete or are ever so slightly unpleasant!
Name your project, show us a photo of how it looks now, tell us what you hope to achieve and, at the end of the month tell us how successful you were and prove it with another photo!
Together, with a little bit of encouragement, we can achieve anything! There'll be Gold Stars for those who complete their challenge and something nasty (don't know what yet) for those who fail

Not for me thanks.
I have plenty of jobs that I keep putting off (1 in particular).
But I enjoy the luxury of putting them off, plus it annoys the wife so that's a bonus.

I'm not sure about 1 a month VC ! All though I probably could
I'm actually in the middle of such a project at the moment. I'm sure I have a before photo somewhere.
The project is in the orchard/ chicken run. Chicken house moving ( it's starting to look like a bl@@dy shanty town). Converting big house into bad weather shelter. And a general tidy up.

Not the best photo, it's more a photo of their posh new house ( the plastic one ) but you get the idea.
The little wooden house & another one similar to it have been rehomed in exchange for a freezer ready hogget
The big wooden one is being converted into bad weather shelter.



And a quick photo from today, taken between down pours.
As you can see front has gone and painting is done. Now for the hard bit.
Hopefully got some more done tomorrow ( weather depending)

Most of my projects are either ongoing (tidy the garage, repeat, repeat...) or the sort of thing I need to do in winter (split perennials etc). Even the awkward pond area which needs weeding and topping up with gravel can't really be done properly until winter as part of it involves pruning the japanese maple tree. So I'm going to have to pass on this for now.

I have two, oops sorry, three large projects to go along with all the little ones.

I am on the scrounge for wire just now as i would like to extend the chicken run into an 'L' shape on a dry bit of south facing ground to give chooks more access to sunlight.


I need to finish my shed thingy at the bottom of the plot. At present the sides are up held together wwith a wing and a prayer and the rotten floor needs replacing. Oh I forgot, it also needs a roof!

The Yin/Yang pond needs completion and is barely off the drawing board.

The Polytunnel needs re-siting once toms are finished

Yeah , I know thats FOUR large projects, but maths was never my strong point!

Mine's a Clear the Gaps project!
They're overgrown with nettles, brambles and other stuff and painful to push your way through. I started clearing the day I started this thread as I wanted moral support! I start things but rarely complete them, especially when I end up stung and scratched.

This is how it looks today - still a long way to go.

Watch this space. By the end of August it will look better.

I think it's a great idea, as I am very prone to starting many projects, but finishing few....
Let me have a think as to which project should go first
