  • Stripping sweetcorn

    Hi All.
Lovely crop of sweetcorn this year. I've been cooking them in the
microwave for 3 min, then cutting off the corn with a pair of
sharp ended scissors. It's delicious, but looks terrible.
Has anyone a method so they look like they've come from a
    Jolly Green Giant tin?

Are you eating it straight away or are you planning on freezing?

You could bag it up on the cob once cooled and it should come off the corn easier when frozen. I eat mine straight off the cob raw or barbequed.

I put it in boiling water for a few minutes, take it out & stand up on a plate, then I put a spoon on the end to hold it steady while I slice the corn off with a knife, downwards,it's a bit awkward holding it steady but it works & reminds me Ive got some in the fridge from yesterday, still tastes sweet

I just strip mine off the cob with a serrated knife and straight in the freezer

Yep I use a knife too - straight down the edge and it comes off perfectly
