Claims to be the earliest fruiting medium/salad tom

Sowing to cropping between 16 and 18 weeks, did anyone manage to get any last season and if so how did they do ?.

their an f1 but could be well handy at the plot if the claims are correct.

18 weeks or 126 days seems a lot of days til harvest,I don't know why they're making a claim of being one of the earliest,I thought my 95 days to harvest balconi red was a long time,some varieties take 55-70 days these would be good. But the summer frolic might be a good tomato to try alongside others

Latah has been the fastest sow to crop time out of all the tomatoes I have sown for several years. Grown in a pot.

Always interested to hear about early tomatoes.

It looks like the Summer Frolic F1 was developed by Burpee in the USA, where it's known as Fourth of July.

Pennard Plants sell it and say it 49 days.

Earliest tomatoes for me in 2017 were Sandpoint and Gold Nugget.
Have got seeds from both of these available for sharing.

I grew summer frolic this year in a tub outside, I wouldn’t say it was particularly quick at cropping compared to my other varieties, but it was quite a heavy cropper.

Cadalot recommends Outdoor Girl. I'm going to give them a go next year. Indeterminate, 60-65 days. RHS award.

This is what Kings Seeds has to say:
As the name would suggest, Outdoor Girl is an outdoor variety but it is an unusually early variety. It produces medium sized fruit of very good flavour and colour and is a heavy cropper.

And this is what Chiltern Seeds say:

Suttons seed packet says 16-18 weeks,I just phoned them because that's a long time etc & it is 16-18 weeks,he checked & put me on hold,he doesn't know why the other people are saying 49 days but he said his information is correct. Burpee & Pennard both state 49 days I haven't phoned them but I think the seed breeder is Burpee & their informations probably correct too

what was the taste like Seasprout ?

Tried both outdoorgirl and latah a couple of years ago but they went in late, will have to give them another go.

I find the fastest I grow outdoors is Sungold, which regularly fruits in about 110 days from sowing (indoors), planted out in the garden (with protection if necessary) at the end of May. Balconi red/yellow grown entirely indoors fruits in about 100-120 days.

Fruit from Latah on the 13th June - same sowing date. Both were kept indoors, in pots until warm enough to stay in the GH overnight. When the GH gets a little full the potted toms get put outside and my cordons planted in the borders are left inside to take over.

I agree with Scarlet on latah - can't remember the exact date but they were the earliest toms I've ever had and are still going.
