Arista Banana Shallots.

Hi guys gals have any of you grown this type of shallot from sets?
iv'e been looking on our local potato day sale site and theyv'e got them new this year,
I was under the impresion they were grown from seeds! eagerly awaiting your replys. atb Dal.

It looks like Arista is an exhibition variety so I would imagine they would grow larger than your average shallot.

Thanks for the reply BM ,i'll give em a go then at a cost of £1.30p for 250grams = 60+ sets it aint going to break the bank. atb Dal.

Found a bit more about them...
Semi-long with a sweet flavour and firm reddish colour flesh. Great for casseroles and stews. Bred to withstand harsh weather in northern Europe.

that helps Mr B . they are suposed to store well and good in salads when fresh !
