  • Sweet Pepper 'Friggitello' Still growing

These are the first peppers I've grown and they are still going strong.

They are in the greenhouse and I'm wondering how long they will last as the weather turns colder?

    TIA

It won't be too long and they will stop, shorter daylight hours as well as lower temps will cause the plant to slow down. How big is it? Any chance youcan bring it indoors? It should give you some early peppers next year if you can.

Mine are still outside,a frost ruins them the peppers go soft,I'll pick all mine any day now it's usually really cold around bonfire night. Have you tried a green one now? I don't think there's any chance now for my green peppers to ripen,Ive got some half ripened ones I'm hoping will fully change colour but I think there's no chance of that, they look the same every time I look at them.

not even if you gently net or string it around to reduce the width, just until it's in home,a net would maybe give a bit of protection also from any fruits getting knocked of,just a thought.

They are supposed to be green Scarlet.

The planter they are in is too big to fit through the door Lottie.

sounds like you can only give your best then,is there a chance of sitting the pot on some polystyrin from a builders merchants, then make a cosy 4 sided box around it,taped or tie with string, just leave the top open for light and air,or wrape loosely in 2 or 3 layers of fleece,

How big were your pots Jonny?
Did you bin them or chop them down to try to over winter?
