I am not a chilli grower, have always just grown a piri piri and a jalapeno to use for general kitchen use. I do like cooking with chillies, lately been eating a lot of korean food where chillies are essential, just to stroke my insanity I have sourced some korean gochun seeds and will be sowing them soon, does anyone have any experience/advice on gochun?

Can't help sorry never grown them. I had a quick google because they sound interesting but can't find anything. Where did you get your seeds?

I've sown my first 6 varieties today.
Sugar rush peach, thunder mountain longhorn, spike, Dorset naga, scotch bonnet & cherry bomb.
Area 51 will be up and running in no time
        I'm so excited

kings seeds from a crowd called green gardens in berkshire, they have a presence on ebay, listing over 200 chilli types

I'm guessing we're probably talking about Gochu rather than Gochun.

If you search for Hong Gochu, then maybe that will be the information you're looking for.

I hope your ebay source turns out to be genuine

I know some of you were interested in the chilli experience day
Chilli Experience Day | Humble by Nature, Wye Valley, Wales

It's happening again. I'm going. Yes I know I said that last time! But I live with mr inconsiderate who had to have his appendix out and make a bl@@dy meal of it . So nothing is going to stop me this time

The price has gone up a little but everything else is the same. I've heard very good reports of the last one.

                Here! SP!

Been doing a little research, and you can actually stay on the farm for a 3 night stay that weekend, I'd be interested, but at a cost of about £350, but you then do get a discount on your entrance ticket, but if a few people did show interest, the cost split between us would come down considerably!

Lets see if others show an interest!

I would happily take a sleeping bag and air bed and sleep I'm the living quarters and leave the bedroom to everyone else!

But I would definitely be interested!

A lot of time between now n June, so lets "Watch this space"

Wow that's not cheap! I knew you could stay on the farm but never look into prices.
As long as I have a healthy Bob ( well healthy enough to drive ) we will be staying with his brother who's conveniently only 20 miles or so down the road.
I couldn't do that last time without Bob because there's no public transport going anywhere near the farm (as far as I could find, anyway).

It'd be great to meet up with some vine chilli heads

                    Next year:
Bangalore Torpedo - ours didn't thrive but the one I gave to my ex-boss did really well
This one we saw in Holkham Hall walled garden whilst we were on holiday:

Then hopefully the usual Prairie Fire and I have some Filius Blue seeds left over from last year

I've been offered some Fish in a seed swap, so I think I'm also going to try and find room for this one.

I wasn't that impressed with Fish either. They looked pretty but didn't have an immense amount of spice or flavour. Trepadeira Werner and Bulgarian Carrot remain 2 of my favourites.

I had an awful year for chillies this year, through my own neglect, so my chilli growing list for 2018 will be remarkably similar to 2017's...
