44 varieties is great going SP..
Make sure you keep us posted on their progress..
I currently have 50 plants and despite stating that I wasn't sowing any more, I did sow 4 more varieties for someone so may end up with a few more..Waiting on the postman for a few more too, so will max out at just under 60...it's plentyI dream of a better tomorrow, where chickens can cross the road and not be questioned about their motives....

Anybody else who swapped plugs sometimes find themselves wondering how they are doing in their new home
Or I am just weird
No, not at all SP; I am not suggesting that you take picsI dream of a better tomorrow, where chickens can cross the road and not be questioned about their motives....

How about at the end of the season we swap pods from the plants we sent each other.
So I'd send you a whippets tail, Omnicolour, Guntur, Akbar. You'd send me pineapple, pink hab, scotch bonnet, naga, spike. Then we can compare to the ones we've grown, heat, taste.
See if different growing methods, locations makes a difference.
Told you it was a crazy idea !

Well I have pricked out a few more!
My count now stands at 34 variety's that have germinated and been pricked out, 3 variety's still awaiting on germination, Prairie Fire, Bartletts Bonnet and Variegata so that's 37 and the Choc Habs have just popped their little heads today, so that makes 38.
And if all that have been pricked out and awaiting pricking out make it to full maturity I will have in excess of 120 plants

Was a tad worried I was late with this latest sowing however comforted reading the posts above from the Chilli experts

Some seedlings and overwintered plants lost, probably to cold conditions.
Updated list so far:
Apache F6
BOC x Yellow Primo
Bulgarian Carrot
Fresno
Golden Cayenne
Golden Marconi
Hot Wax (Uncertain provenance from a share)
Jalapeno
Joes Long
Long Green Buddha
NuMex Twilight x Cayenne F2
Thai Orange Large
Overwintering lottery possible survivors:
Aji Pineapple
Akabare Nepalese
Bishops Hat
Elysium Oxide F7
TSM Medium Red
Turbo Alberto (C. pubescens)
7 Pot Red
There are other seeds still in the propagators, too early to be sure of final list yet.

Can anyone help me to identify the chillies that I am growing? Based on advice here, I realised it was getting a bit late in the year to be sowing chillies, so I just grabbed what seemed the best option at Wilko on a day I managed to get there 10 minutes before closing.
They are Johnsons Hot Caribbean Blend and neither the packaging nor the website gives any indication (bar a picture) of what the blend might consist of. I presume that the picture may only be representative, but given the seeds I planted have germinated well, it would be nice to know what I may be growing, especially as I am likely to end up giving away some plants to friends/family. Can any of you suggest what they might be?
Thank you
(Ooh, I've just noticed that I'm allowed to post without proving I'm human now!)

It should still be fun growing them and the pods should be very usable in cooking.Last edited by Mitzi; 16-03-2018, 12:04 PM.

....but that said, here’s some pics of SPs plugs doing well at home with me .....I have a feeling the non isolated scotch bonnet seed dug out of the freezer may have crossed because he is growing faster than any other chilli I have here!

Great photos, Scarlet. If you want them to look really professional then you need to clean up the "floor" a bit but that's a very minor point.
Is the frozen & possibly hybrid "scotch bonnet" the middle one? Because that doesn't even look chinense. It will be really interesting to see what comes of it.
